Information

Naseby Reservoir is a prominent body of water covering an impressive 93 acres when filled to capacity. Originally built to supply water for the Grand Union Canal Leicester line, the reservoir also provides water to the Welford Arm in Welford village via a feeder stream located approximately two miles away. Anglers visiting Naseby Reservoir can look forward to a well-stocked fishery, with Fishers Pond strain carp being the main attraction. These carp can grow up to 40lb, with the average size ranging from 8lb to 30lb, offering a rewarding fishing experience. The reservoir also boasts a significant population of roach, often found in large shoals along the dam wall, providing opportunities for impressive silver catches exceeding 50lb. During times of high water levels, especially after a wet winter, the pegs located on the dam wall platforms offer accessible fishing spots and are known to be productive areas for winter pike fishing. Naseby Reservoir has seen pike catches surpassing 30lb in the past. As the water levels decrease in the summer and autumn, anglers have the chance to fish from the gravel reservoir bed, further enriching the fishing experience. Regardless of whether you are targeting carp, roach, or pike, Naseby Reservoir offers a diverse range of angling opportunities throughout the year.
