Located in the serene Alexandra Park in Hastings, Buckshole Reservoir is a large and deep 8-acre water that is teeming with wildlife and offers a variety of fishing opportunities. The reservoir is home to a diverse range of ducks and a few majestic swans, creating a tranquil setting for anglers to enjoy. For match fishermen, Buckshole Reservoir offers a sizeable population of coarse fish, while carp enthusiasts can look forward to catching some very large carp. Additionally, the reservoir is known for its good-sized pike, providing a thrilling challenge for anglers of all levels. Although considered a difficult water for carp fishing, the rewards at Buckshole Reservoir are well worth the effort, with carp reaching impressive weights of up to 36lb. Managed by the Hastings, Bexhill and District Freshwater Angling Association, the reservoir is accessible to anglers through day tickets that can be obtained directly on the bank. While fishing with keepnets and live bait is permitted, it is important to note that dogs are not allowed on the premises. Additionally, fishing from the banks on the tree end is prohibited. Overall, Buckshole Reservoir offers a peaceful and picturesque fishing experience with the chance to reel in some impressive catches in a beautiful natural setting.
