Nestled on the border of Rutland & Leicestershire, the two fishing lakes at Spring Grange Fisheries (also known as Fishing Lakes at Purple Badger or the lakes at Beeby) offer a tranquil retreat amongst woodland and wildlife. Two charming shepherds huts situated by the top lake provide the perfect setting for relaxation, fishing, and star-gazing. For those looking to stay overnight, camping options are available in the bottom field. Guests can cook on open fires next to their own tents or opt to sleep in one of the resident bell tents, which can be hired furnished or unfurnished for a touch of home comfort. With over 40 years of history, the coarse lake at Spring Grange Fisheries was originally created as an irrigation pool for a strawberry business before being developed for trout and coarse fishing. The bottom lake, 17ft deep and surrounded by 18 refurbished pegs, is home to a variety of fish including roach, perch, tench, and carp up to 9lbs. The top lake, dug out in 1990, boasts a depth of 8ft and a central island adorned with trees and bushes. With 12 pegs each offering unique features, this lake is a haven for carp up to 25lbs, as well as rudd and roach. Additionally, there are 4 extra pegs available for those hiring the Shepherds huts for a night of fishing. Whether known as Spring Grange Fisheries, Fishing Lakes at Purple Badger, or the lakes at Beeby, the welcoming atmosphere and diverse fishing opportunities at these lakes aim to provide a memorable experience for all visitors.
