Information
Tansterne Fishery is a fishing venue located in the hamlet of Tansterne in East Yorkshire, just a short distance from Sproatley and Aldbrough. The fishery is open from March to October, from 6.30am to 6.30pm, with exceptions for matches and members during the winter months. The fishery caters to anglers of all abilities, with special pegs available for less abled anglers that are conveniently located near parking facilities. The complex originally consisted of three ponds – Main pond, Car Park pond, and Canal pond. Over time, the Car Park pond and Main pond have been combined into a larger fishing area. The Main pond is ideal for waggler fishing, while the Canal pond provides a great spot for pole fishing. In total, the ponds offer 32 pegs for anglers to use, all equipped with keep nets and landing nets. Amenities at the fishery include free car parking and a porta loo for convenience. Tansterne Fishing Ponds also welcome match bookings and charity events, offering special rates for large groups. For carp fishing enthusiasts, the fishery boasts carp up to 30lb and common carp up to 18lb. However, it's important to note that Tansterne Fishery is a float-only venue, which may not be suitable for those accustomed to using buzzers, bait alarms, and ledgers for big fish. In addition to carp, the fishery offers a variety of coarse fishing opportunities, with species such as Barbel, Chub, Tench, Ide, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Crucian Carp, Perch, and ghost carp available for anglers to target. For those interested in learning how to fish or improving their skills, Tansterne Fishery also offers fishing lessons. A three-hour tuition session includes all necessary tackle, bait, and peg fee for £30, with longer sessions available upon request. Whether you're looking to hone your rod or pole techniques, the fishery provides a welcoming environment for anglers of all levels.
