Information
The Island Fish Farm is located on the Isle of Wight, just off the southwest coast between Shorwell and Brighstone. This angling complex offers a unique experience for fishermen and fisherwomen, with B&B and self-catering accommodation available on site. The fishery features four separate waters for fishing, providing a variety of options for anglers. The main lake, spanning 1 acre, is dedicated to fly fishing for Rainbow Trout. Anglers have the option of catch and release, but the owners encourage taking home your catch by offering a reduced ticket price based on the weight of the fish. Additionally, the farm provides a fish smoking service and freezing facility for anglers who want to collect their catch at a later time. The second lake is 0.75 acres and boasts a picturesque island of willow trees, offering fantastic Carp fishing opportunities. In 2010, the best catches included a 26 lbs Mirror Carp and a 24 lbs Common Carp, with double figure fish being caught regularly. For those looking for more action, there are also two smaller ponds stocked with mixed coarse fish, perfect for younger anglers or those seeking a bit more activity. Overall, The Island Fish Farm provides a diverse and enjoyable fishing experience for visitors to the Isle of Wight, combining the thrill of angling with the comforts of on-site accommodation and convenient services for anglers.
