The pond also features two small islands, adding an interesting element to the landscape. The Winchfield pond is a recent acquisition of the Society and has the potential to surprise anglers with catches of Roach, Rudd, Perch, Bream, and Tench. Members are encouraged to share their feedback on their catches with the Head Bailiff or Honorary Secretary to assist in fishery management. Fishing at Winchfield pond can be challenging due to heavy weed and an abundance of lilies, but anglers who persevere can expect exceptional results. The pond is home to approximately 30 Ghost Carp weighing over 14 pounds, with some reaching up to 31 pounds. Additionally, Mirror Carp, Roach, Tench, and even a few Pike weighing up to 15 pounds can be found in the pond. Fishing for Koi Carp with surface baits is a popular tactic at Winchfield pond and offers an exciting fishing experience. Anglers are advised to use tackle that can handle the strong resistance of the fish when they are caught in the weed.
