Information
The river Teme is known for its abundance of specimen barbel and quality chub and roach fishing, making it a popular destination for anglers across the country. The Lower Teme stretch is particularly renowned for its large barbel, with other species such as pike, bream, roach, perch, and eels also commonly found in the water. Access to the water downstream from the Old Powick Bridge is through a stile located at the rear of the car park next to the Old Bridge, with a strict rule against using the Bennetts Farm Dairy entrance. Parking is only allowed at the designated car park or near the Old Bridge. For those entering the water upstream from the Old Powick Bridge, access is through the entrance off the Old Bridge near the bungalow, with a reminder not to park vehicles in the lane. The top boundary of this water is at the end of the second meadow above the weir. Entrances for the water above the bridge include a gate opposite the bungalow entrance, while the entrance for the water below the weir and above the mill stream requires continuing along the lane and crossing over a gate. These guidelines ensure the proper and respectful use of the river Teme, maintaining its status as a prime fishing location for a variety of fish species.
