Rackley Hills lake, located on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard near the bypass, offers anglers a peaceful and picturesque setting for fishing. Access to the lake is through the access road to Grundfos Pumps, making it easily accessible for visitors. The lake, which was once an old sand quarry, has been abandoned for many years and has since transformed into a beautiful and mature body of water. Despite its proximity to factory units, the lake provides anglers with a serene countryside atmosphere. Rackley Hills lake boasts varying depths, ranging from two to twelve feet, with minimal weed growth except in the margins. The lake is particularly renowned for its impressive catfish stocks, with some reaching up to 55lb and many others in the 20/30 and 40lb range. Additionally, the lake is home to a thriving population of carp, with some individuals approaching thirty pounds in size. In recent years, Rackley Hills lake underwent stocking with fast-growing Simmonds mirror carp weighing between 4lb and 5lb. The results have been astounding, with some of these fish being caught at 15lb-17lb within a year, indicating a remarkable growth rate. With its diverse fish population, tranquil surroundings, and convenient location, Rackley Hills lake is a popular destination for anglers looking to enjoy a rewarding fishing experience.
