Information
Nestled in the picturesque Worcestershire Countryside, Shatterford Lakes is a haven for fishing enthusiasts of all skill levels. The location is ideal for both beginners and experienced anglers, with facilities catering to those with limited mobility. Over the years, the lakes have become a favorite spot for disabled anglers, including those with hearing or speech impairments. One of the standout features of Shatterford Lakes is its water depth, making it a prime fishing destination even during the winter months. While other still water venues may see a decline in fish activity during winter, anglers at Shatterford Lakes have reported impressive catches, with Winter League matches in 2009 yielding catches of over 30lb. Some anglers even managed to reel in roach weighing over 2lb, despite fishing through broken ice. For those seeking a challenge, the Specimen Lakes – Masters and Erics – offer deep waters and rewarding fishing opportunities. With 14 fishable pegs each and an island as a prominent feature, these lakes provide a diverse fishing experience. Popular baits used by anglers include pop-up boilies, pellets, and luncheon meat. Among the two lakes, Masters stands out as the first lake visitors encounter, with convenient parking and pegs designed for disabled individuals. This lake holds both the site records for catfish (66lb) and carp (40lb 12oz). While Masters reaches a depth of 35ft at its lowest point, the record catches were actually made in shallower waters near the margins, showcasing the diverse fishing environment offered by Shatterford Lakes.
