Fishing Information The fishery consists of two separate waters, the Lower Lake and the Small Lake. The Lower Lake is a 12-acre syndicate lake which requires membership costing £350 per year. The Small Lake is a 1/4 acre day ticket lake which can be accessed on a book only basis. The estate lake is shallow and silty, with various features such as islands, stream, bloodworm beds, and waterfalls. The fish stocks in the fishery are diverse, with carp being the predominant species, with some fish reaching up to 35lbs. Other species include Bream up to 14lbs, Perch up to 3lbs, pike up to 25lbs, roach up to 2lbs, and Tench up to 8lbs. Currently, the Lower Lake contains around 400 carp, with an average weight of mid to upper doubles. The fish are young stock and have been growing well, with several twenties and mid-twenties being caught recently. There are various strains of carp in the lake, including traditional scaly fish, leading to the potential for some impressive catches in the future. Specific site rules include a maximum of 3 rods per angler and the use of bait boats being allowed only on the Belvoir water. Additionally, there are events held in the Castle Grounds that may impact fishing, and the upper lake is only open from 1st February to 1st August. Overall, the fishery offers a diverse range of fish species and features, making it an appealing destination for anglers looking for a varied fishing experience. Membership to the Lower Lake provides access to a large and well-stocked lake, while day tickets for the Small Lake offer a convenient option for those looking for a shorter fishing session.
