The British Carp Angling Singles Championships is a prestigious and historic carp fishing competition that has been running for the last 24 years. Anglers from all over the country compete in qualifiers held at various carp waters, with the final showdown taking place at Billys Lake. The competition is fierce, with surprises and nail-biting moments guaranteed each year. For the 2024 event, single anglers can enter for a fee of £250, with a 50% deposit required. The top prize for the champion is £6,000, followed by £3,000 for second place and £1,500 for third place. Additionally, there are qualifier prizes introduced this year to add more excitement to the competition. Barston Lakes, Barston Lake, The Res, and Broadlands Main Lake are some of the venues that will host qualifiers. Each qualifier will have 6 anglers in every section, with the winner of each section progressing to the final. Billys Lake will be the venue for the final, offering anglers a challenging yet rewarding fishing experience. Billys Lake, the largest lake on the complex, is designed to be an action-packed water where hits of multiple fish are common. With a total stock of over 1100 fish, including carp up to 30lb+, anglers will have plenty of opportunities to land some impressive catches. The lakebed features various ups and downs, providing anglers with plenty of features to target.
