Information
Birkwood Farm Fisheries, established in 1996 by Dick and Sandra, has grown from a single lake operation into a complex of 5 lakes with river and canal fishing. The business is now run by Chris and Sharon, making it a family-run operation. Their aim is to provide anglers with a safe, clean, tidy, and welcoming fishing experience. Located in the rural urban fringe near Leeds and Wakefield, Birkwood is easily accessible from various parts of Yorkshire, including Huddersfield, Mirfield, York, Doncaster, and Sheffield. The complex features 5 lakes: Main Lake, Frog Hall Lake, Molly’s Lake, Oscar’s Lake, and Emily’s Lake, with over 100 fishing stations. Carp in the Main Lake and Frog Hall Lake can reach nearly 30lbs, while those in Emily’s, Oscar’s, and Molly’s Lakes are around 20lbs. Other fish species in the lakes include Roach, Rudd, Tench, Perch, and Bream, with recent additions of F1 Carp in Emily’s and Oscar’s Lakes. Visitors to Birkwood can expect a warm welcome and a pleasant fishing experience. The fishing platforms are well spaced, and there is ample parking available either behind the pegs or within a short distance of each lake. Toilet facilities are also conveniently located on-site. Overall, Birkwood Farm Fisheries strives to provide anglers with a top-notch fishing experience in a beautiful and accessible location.
