Information

Office Lake, originally excavated as a gravel pit in the late 1950s and early 1960s by the Hoveringham Gravel Company, has a rich history dating back to its discovery of mammoth remains during the digging process. This discovery led to the mammoth becoming the logo for the company and gave the lake its name, "Office Lake," as it was initially restricted to use by the management only. In 1973, the lake received recognition for being the best restoration of a gravel pit. However, in recent years, Office Lake has been neglected, but efforts are now underway to restore it to its former glory. The lake now offers specialist fishing opportunities and has been extensively stocked with various fish species. The prominent species in the lake include the Wels European Catfish, weighing over 70 pounds, along with Pike, Eels, Perch, Rudd, Roach, and Carp weighing up to 25 pounds. Visitors to Office Lake can enjoy the convenience of driving to their designated spacious swim, eliminating the need for transporting equipment via barrows. The swims are large enough to accommodate even large bivvies, providing ample room for anglers to set up for a day of fishing. For specific details about fishing regulations, access, and amenities at Office Lake, it is recommended to contact the relevant authorities or management responsible for the lake. Office Lake offers a unique fishing experience in a historic setting, making it a must-visit destination for fishing enthusiasts looking to enjoy a day out on the water.
