Information

Founded in 2011 by Paul Frear, AVAC (Allen Valley Angling & Conservation) is an organization dedicated to promoting fishing on the River East Allen while also focusing on the conservation and preservation of the river ecosystem. AVAC holds fishing rights on a significant portion of the river, stretching from above Allenheads to below Allen Mill Bridge, as well as offering fishing opportunities at Coatenhill Reservoir near Spartylea. All of AVAC's fishing locations are nestled within the stunning North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The primary target species for fishing in the area is the wild brown trout, although anglers may also catch sea trout and, on occasion, salmon. AVAC welcomes new members who share a passion for fishing and conservation, offering both membership and day tickets for local anglers and visitors alike to enjoy the diverse fishing opportunities the river has to offer. Overall, AVAC's mission is to not only provide a platform for fishing enthusiasts to enjoy the sport in a beautiful and natural setting but also to actively contribute to the preservation and sustainability of the river ecosystem for future generations to come. Through their efforts in promoting responsible fishing practices and conservation initiatives, AVAC strives to create a harmonious balance between recreational fishing and environmental stewardship on the River East Allen.
