Information

Cromwell is a picturesque 18-acre spring-fed specimen lake located in Newark, just off the A1, known for its natural beauty and tranquil surroundings. The lake offers a variety of depths ranging from 3ft to 18ft, along with prominent gravel bars, silty areas, drop-offs, and seasonal weed growth. Despite the presence of weed, every peg is fishable, and the diverse underwater structure provides a rich natural food source for the fish. Surrounded by a picturesque landscape of willow, beech, magnolia, scotts pine, and cherry trees, Cromwell creates a haven for wildlife and contributes to the lake's biodiversity. In 2004, Cromwell underwent a transformation into a specimen carp venue through a restocking program. The lake now boasts several carp weighing over 40lbs, with some reaching 50lbs and numerous 30-pounders. The fishery continues its commitment to restocking annually and collaborates with reputable fish farmers such as AJS, Chilston, Arron Standing, 5 Star, VS, and Simmons. The grounds of Cromwell are meticulously maintained and have been developed into an 18-peg site, providing ample space with up to an acre of water per angler. The site also features an angler's lodge equipped with all necessary facilities for longer sessions, and secure car parking with CCTV to ensure the safety of visitors and their vehicles. Cromwell is a true angler's paradise, offering a beautiful natural setting, top-quality fish, and excellent facilities for an unforgettable fishing experience.
