Information
Buttonhole Lake is a family-run mixed fishery located between Wisbech and King's Lynn. The current owners, Chris and Bev Smith, have been running the lake as a match and pleasure venue since September 2017. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish including carp up to mid 20's, barbel, tench, bream, perch, roach, and rudd. Please note that the lake is closed on Tuesdays until further notice. All closures and bookings can be found under the match bookings tab, so make sure to check before heading out. It is crucial to follow social distancing guidelines as COVID-19 has not disappeared. When visiting the lake, be sure to bring the correct payment for the peg fee. Adults can fish with one rod for £8 or two rods for £12, while juniors aged 15 and under can fish with one rod for £5. Juniors must be accompanied by an adult from the same household. Make sure to have a valid fishing license before fishing at Buttonhole Lake. There is a payment box on the fence next to the rules board where you can leave the correct money and car registration details. Alternatively, the fee can be collected at the bank. The lake has 23 wooden platforms for fishing, as well as a double wheelchair-friendly platform. Unfortunately, due to bank erosion, the wheelchair access peg is currently closed for repair and cannot be booked at this time. Parking and toilet facilities are available on-site for convenience. The lake is open from 6 am (or dawn, whichever is latest) until 7 pm (or dusk, whichever is earliest) six days a week. Day tickets can be purchased on the bank. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the site. It is important to follow all rules and regulations while visiting Buttonhole Lake to ensure a safe and enjoyable fishing experience.
