Located between the town of Swindon and the historic city of Oxford, Baulking Lake is a breathtaking 20-acre venue that is quickly becoming a popular destination for anglers. Owned by Embryo Angling, the lake is available for exclusive sessions for up to 10 anglers or smaller groups of 4 or 3 anglers. Under the ownership of Embryo Angling, Baulking Lake has undergone an incredible stocking regime, with a total of 580 carp up to mid 30lb’s now calling the lake home. Many of the larger carp have yet to be caught, as the venue has recently opened to paying anglers. Sessions start on Monday for week tickets from Mon-Fri or on Friday for weekend tickets from Fri-Mon. Booking instructions are available to guide you through the process. The experience of booking for Baulking Lake will soon be improved, but for now, make sure to book for 1 lead angler and select either a 4-night Mon-Fri ticket or a 3-night Fri-Mon ticket. Groups can then purchase the relevant group ticket for 3 or 4 anglers for either option. Baulking Lake offers lake-exclusive bookings for parties of up to 10 anglers, accommodating a single party or up to three separate groups. An Embryo representative will greet all groups at the entrance, conduct a site walk round, swim/area draw, explain the rules, and provide tips to help anglers catch as many fish as possible. Stocking of Baulking Lake began in 2019, introducing 580 carp from leading fish farms in the UK. The diverse stock includes linears, fully-scaled mirrors, immaculate commons, and leathery mirrors, providing something for every angler. With fast growth rates, some fish have already gained over 10lb since stocking. The lake features 14 spacious swims with jetties protruding into the water, providing ample space for anglers even during a full lake booking. With depths reaching over 40ft, Baulking Lake offers a rich environment for carp to thrive, making it a great location for winter fishing as well. The lack of weed and clean substrate make bait presentation easy, with the potential for multiple bites when the carp are feeding.
