Alderson Large Lake is a highly esteemed carp water located just outside Needham Market, part of the Alderson Lakes fishing complex. This lake is well-known for its impressive carp population, with fish reaching weights of 36lb and even higher. In addition to carp, the lake also boasts Tench and Bream that grow to double-figure sizes, as well as pike up to 28lb. The silver fish stock in the lake is also plentiful, providing a diverse fishing experience for anglers. The ownership of Alderson Lakes is held entirely by the fishing club, making it a focal point for their restocking efforts. The venue offers designated pegs that are accessible and convenient for disabled anglers, with easy car access and firm, level bases. Toilet facilities are available for all members, including male, female, and disabled anglers, with keys obtainable from the General Secretary. Aside from the lakes, Alderson Lakes also includes two sections of the River Gipping within its boundaries, offering anglers the opportunity to fish in flowing water, particularly targeting Chub. The fishing complex operates year-round, with no close season restrictions on the stillwaters. Night fishing is permitted on the large lake, but anglers must purchase a night ticket and adhere to specific restrictions outlined in the club's rule book.
