Information
Crowsheath is a well-known and popular fishery located in the tranquil Essex countryside, just a short distance from the Hanningfield reservoir. It offers four beautiful lakes catering to anglers of all abilities, from beginners to seasoned pros. The jewel of the site is the 8.5 acre specimen lake, stocked with various strains of carp including some impressive 'scaley bangers' that draw anglers back time and time again. The lake also holds catfish, pike, roach, rudd, and perch, providing plenty of variety for anglers to target. The specimen lake has a predominantly clay bottom with a few gravel patches, and a depth of 7-9ft. It features 24 well-kept swims, each offering a unique fishing experience. The lake has no weed present, but the overhanging trees and marginal rushes provide cover for the fish. Anglers can use a variety of tactics to target the carp, including boilies, corn, single hookbaits, spodded particle, and zigs. The site also includes the Crowsnest lake, a newer addition that offers an intimate setting with seven swims. This lake is carefully stocked with fish ranging from 15lb to over 36lb, providing anglers with a great chance of landing a specimen carp. Lake exclusives are available for weekend bookings, while day tickets are available during the week. The Carp Canal, formerly known as the old Cat Canal, has undergone extensive improvements to make it an ideal venue for mini matches of up to six anglers. With a healthy stock of carp ranging from 10lb upwards, this half-acre lake provides anglers with the opportunity for multiple big hits in a competitive match setting. For young anglers or those looking to target carp and coarse fish on light tackle, the Pleasure Lake is the perfect choice. This 0.5 acre lake has a uniform depth of 4ft and offers 10 swims for a relaxed day of float fishing. Anglers can target bream, roach, perch, carp, and tench using feeder tactics, ground bait, or a maggot or pellet approach on the waggler. Overall, Crowsheath offers fantastic fishing opportunities in a beautiful and peaceful setting, making it a popular choice for anglers looking to enjoy a day by the water.
