Information

Greenfields Lake is a medium sized fishing pond with a small island that was originally dug out for Blue clay. The top left of the lake is now a nature reserve and spawning area for fish stock, so anglers are asked not to fish in this area. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish, including Mirror carp, common carp, pike, tench, perch, rudd, and roach. The facilities at Greenfields Lake are ample, with car parking and toilet facilities that are easily accessible. While there is no catering on site, there is a Co-operative local shop about half a mile away and a tackle shop, KC Sports, about 2 miles away beside Wokingham train station. Greenfields Lake is a great place for both experienced anglers and those looking to improve their skills. Children under 14 must be accompanied and have prior consent to fish at the lake. The bailiff is available to offer advice on the best methods for catching fish, the best baits to use, and to ensure that all rules are being followed. It is important to show the hooks and baits being used and have all compulsory equipment as outlined in the local rules. Anglers are asked to respect the facilities and their fellow fishermen by not sitting too close to others and ensuring that their baits do not interfere with anyone else's space. Bins are provided for refuse, and unused bait can be thrown into the water. It is important to keep the area clean as discarded rubbish can harm the wildlife and attract vermin. Overall, Greenfields Lake provides a great opportunity to catch a variety of fish in excellent condition, with the potential to catch multiple fish during a visit. Anglers are asked to cooperate with the rules and guidelines set out to ensure a positive experience for everyone at the lake.
