Access to this particular body of water is exclusively reserved for Members Only, ensuring a peaceful and focused fishing experience. The pool itself is a shallow, silty lake with depths reaching up to 3.5 feet, providing a unique challenge for fishing enthusiasts. With a large head of tench averaging between 3-4lbs, as well as excellent bream, roach, and crucian carp fishing opportunities, anglers are sure to have a rewarding time on the water. For those looking to cast their lines, both pole and tip fishing methods using sweetcorn or meat have proven to be successful. While waggler fishing is possible, the shallow water may present some difficulties. The prime times for fishing are early morning and late evening, when the fish are most active and likely to bite. In addition to the plentiful fish population, there is a small head of carp in the water, including the renowned Cicely Common which boasts an impressive weight of around 32lbs. To protect the ecosystem and ensure sustainable fishing practices, fishing on this water is limited to the designated fishing platforms provided. A conservation area comprising a third of the lake is off-limits to members, preserving the natural habitat for the benefit of wildlife. Access to the water is strictly regulated, with entry permitted only through the official car park. This exclusive arrangement ensures that Members have full access to the best fishing spots and can enjoy a tranquil and undisturbed fishing experience in a beautiful natural setting.
