Information

Lake Pochard is a popular coarse fishing venue situated near South Cerney in Gloucestershire. The lake, which was once a gravel pit, spans approximately 10 acres and boasts varying depths ranging from less than half a meter to around three meters. Despite the challenging weed growth that presents an obstacle to fishermen, those who manage to locate the fish find that they are relatively easy to catch. The lake has gained a reputation for yielding impressive catches, with reports of fishermen reeling in multiple fish in a single day. For instance, one angler proudly shared that they caught nine fish in a day, with seven weighing over 25lb each. Another fisherman recounted a successful day of fishing that included landing six fish, one of which exceeded 30lb, four weighing over 25lb, and one in the low 20lb range. Given the dense weed cover in the lake, anglers are advised to use breakaway leads to increase their chances of successfully landing a fish. Despite the challenges posed by the vegetation, Lake Pochard remains a sought-after destination for fishing enthusiasts looking to test their skills and potentially hook some impressive catches. With its picturesque surroundings and promising fishing opportunities, this fishery continues to attract anglers eager for a rewarding angling experience.
