Information

HAPS is a small and friendly fishing club that was established in 1982 at Jack's Lake in Hadley Woods, Barnet, Hertfordshire. The club was formed to manage and regulate fishing activities at the lake, which is open to both club members and visitors who purchase day tickets. The club organizes fishing matches and coach outings for its members, creating a sense of camaraderie and community among fishing enthusiasts. The lake offers a total of 44 pegs for fishing, with 27 of them available on a day ticket basis and the remaining pegs exclusively reserved for club members. The lake is home to a variety of fish, including carp up to 26lb, bream up to 7lb, roach, tench up to 6lb, chub up to 4lb, pike up to 18lb, rudd, gudgeon, and occasionally eels and barbel. Recent improvements at the lake have enhanced accessibility, with new paths, metal safety platforms at most pegs, and steps added to certain pegs. Junior anglers are welcomed at the lake, and while there are no formal disabled facilities, there is one peg specifically designed for wheelchair users. Other pegs may also be accessible with some assistance. The club encourages anglers to contact them for further information on accessibility. Fishing fees at the lake are affordable, with senior tickets priced per rod and juniors under 16 fishing for free. Concession rates apply, and all anglers over the age of 12 must have a valid Environment Agency Fishing license. Fishing at the lake is permitted from sunrise to sunset, with a maximum of two rods allowed per person and per peg. Anglers are required to adhere to the club's rules and regulations while fishing at the lake.
