Information
Established in 1972, the SWSC Angling Section is a thriving community of fishing enthusiasts who have access to one of the largest lakes in the Herts, Beds & Bucks area. The club shares the lake with individuals participating in sailing, water-skiing, and powerboat racing, ensuring that there is ample room for everyone to enjoy their respective activities. For more information on these additional water-based pursuits, members can refer to the club's main website. The lake itself is home to a diverse range of fish species, including roach, roach/rudd hybrids, rudd, bream, tench, perch, pike, and zander. While there are also a few carp and eels present, they are caught only occasionally. With no closed season, members have the opportunity to fish on the lake year-round. The club holds two matches annually, including a course match in September and a predator match in November, providing members with the chance to test their skills against fellow anglers. In addition to the excellent fishing opportunities, the club offers a range of facilities to enhance the overall experience for its members. These amenities include toilets, hot showers, a members bar, a galley for food and beverages, and secure parking for members' vehicles. Furthermore, Stewartby Water Sports permits a limited number of fishing boats to access the lake, offering anglers the chance to explore new areas and potentially increase their catch. Overall, the SWSC Angling Section provides a welcoming and supportive environment for anglers of all skill levels to come together, share their passion for fishing, and enjoy the serene beauty of Stewartby Lake. Whether members are looking to participate in matches, leisurely fish with friends, or simply relax by the water, the club offers something for everyone with its diverse range of activities and facilities. For those interested in joining the club or learning more about fishing opportunities on the lake, reaching out to the club for further information is highly recommended.
